T.G.I.F. (Truly, Ginger is free)

Have you ever wondered how many English words are derived from the French language? Think “cliche”, “rendezvous”, or “croissant”. While we may use these similar words in the English language, we sometimes get so flustered over the ‘correct’ pronunciations of these words.

Well, here’s another word with French roots to add to your list – fiance. While fiance is just one letter away from finance, they hold meanings that are worlds apart. So remember to use Ginger to avoid embarrassing mistakes in your writing.

Take our Facebook poll on whether English words with French roots should be pronounced the same way in French.

Enjoy your Thursday!
