Ginger is FREE!

As we posted before, Ginger recently became available for FREE for all users. We’ve had some questions about that, so here’s the deal:

Ginger’s Free.

That’s it. No hidden charges, nothing we ask of you. All you need to do is download and install it, and see how your grammar and spelling mistakes start vanishing from your documents. Fun!

Last week some users said they’ve had problems because Ginger was asking them for a license key, so I’m happy to announce that our QA team just released the fix for this. If you’ve had Ginger before and your trial has expired, just click here and install it. You will get the most recent version, free of charge.

If you’re still experiencing any problems, or just want to let us know that it worked and you’re happy, we’re always glad to hear from you at support@gingersoftware.com, or on the comments section of this blog.

Yours, as always,

The Ginger Team

A few days ago I noticed that the program said I have 365 days remaining…am I steadily losing whatever remains of my mind or is that a glitch? I haven’t seen it in a while though so no worries…yet.

    BK

P.S. I love the software I have no idea what I would do without it :)

Hi Brendon, that is most probably a technical glitch. Ginger Grammar & Spell checker is absolutely free. It is not a trial version with any expiry date. Do let us know if you encounter that message again.

P.S. Glad to know that you’re enjoying the software. We thank you for your continual support as we work even harder to improve the product! =)

What if you had already paid for Ginger? Does it cancel the payments or does it continue to make you pay to use Ginger? By the way, Ginger is an amazing program!

Hi Anonymus, the payment you’ve made for Ginger Premium is a one-time payment. There are no recurring charges.
You will continue to enjoy the functions of the text-to-speech reader and the English-learning features. We’re glad that you’re finding Ginger helpful. Do stay tuned for more! =)

    Hi,

I have two questions (I also sent them to your Tech Support, but I was hoping to get the answers here). 1. The download I did says I have two days remaining. When I click on it It says the software costs $89. Is there a free version (I don’t need the vocalizer or teaching aids)? 2. How do I add to the “Personal dictionary”? I tried your software last night and spent half my time “skipping” the same words. Thanks!

      Hi Blacky,

Regarding the first question, you might want to try uninstalling Ginger Software on your computer and download the free version from our website again. We have a free license version that runs without an expiry date.

For the second question, there is an “Add to dictionary” option when you hover your mouse icon over a flagged word. Click that option to add it to your personal dictionary.

Do let us know if you have further queries. We’re always glad to help! =)

      Cheers,
      Paul

Sorry, one more question. Is it possible to the grammar check off (just run spell checker)?

    Thanks again,

      Hi Blacky,

It is not possible to separate the spelling and grammar checking functions. They operate together in the program. =)

    Hi
When I run a check, ginger shows a “go premium” option where the automatic “apply” option should be. Why is it showing? Is there a trial period for the usage of ginger. Changing every word manually and again restarting the checking process is turning out to be quite tedious. please help.

Does Ginger supports IPad? I’m asking this question because I only have iPad and would love to download this great software. Please let me know.

What is the different between free version and 39$ version?

      Hi,

The Free Version is limited in its capacity. You get a weekly number of corrections that are reset every Monday. The $39 version provides you unlimited access to lots of great Ginger tools.
