Ginger is FREE!

As we posted before, Ginger recently became available for FREE for all users. We’ve had some questions about that, so here’s the deal:

Ginger’s Free.


That’s it. No hidden charges, nothing we ask of you. All you need to do is download and install it, and see how your grammar and spelling mistakes start vanishing from your documents. Fun!

Last week some users said they’ve had problems because Ginger was asking them for a license key, so I’m happy to announce that our QA team just released the fix for this. If you’ve had Ginger before and your trial has expired, just click here and install it. You will get the most recent version, free of charge.

If you’re still experiencing any problems, or just want to let us know that it worked and you’re happy, we’re always glad to hear from you at support@gingersoftware.com, or on the comments section of this blog.

    A few days ago I noticed that the program said I have 365 days remaining…am I steadily losing whatever remains of my mind or is that a glitch? I haven’t seen it in a while though so no worries…yet.

      Hi Brendon, that is most probably a technical glitch. Ginger Grammar & Spell checker is absolutely free. It is not a trial version with any expiry date. Do let us know if you encounter that message again.

    What if you had already paid for Ginger? Does it cancel the payments or does it continue to make you pay to use Ginger? By the way, Ginger is an amazing program!

      Hi Anonymus, the payment you’ve made for Ginger Premium is a one-time payment. There are no recurring charges.

    Hi,

    I have two questions (I also sent them to your Tech Support, but I was hoping to get the answers here). 1. The download I did says I have two days remaining. When I click on it It says the software costs $89. Is there a free version (I don’t need the vocalizer or teaching aids)? 2. How do I add to the “Personal dictionary”? I tried your software last night and spent half my time “skipping” the same words. Thanks!

      Hi Blacky,

      Regarding the first question, you might want to try uninstalling Ginger Software on your computer and download the free version from our website again. We have a free license version that runs without an expiry date.

      For the second question, there is an “Add to dictionary” option when you hover your mouse icon over a flagged word. Click that option to add it to your personal dictionary.

      It is not possible to separate the spelling and grammar checking functions. They operate together in the program. =)

    Hello, I installed the latest version of Ginger and whenever I try to use it with outlook, it asks for a premium key. How to fix this issue?

    i install free ginger it works for a day or an hour then stops working. happens after i shut down laptop for 1/2 hour let it sit. then turn back on ginger wont work anymore. i uninstall and reinstall ginger several times a day. what is the problem. i like and want to use ginger but cannot.
