Ginger Chrome Web Extension

Great news everyone!
Ginger is proud to publicly release a Chrome web extension today. In line with our efforts to improve Ginger’s product and services, the new Chrome extension allows Ginger to be used on emails and social media such as Facebook. Users of the Chrome web-browser are able to install the extension on any platform supported by Chrome (Mac, Win, Linux).

Download the extension from the Chrome Web Store: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/kdfieneakcjfaiglcfcgkidlkmlijjnh

In addition, Safari and Firefox standalone extensions are currently in the works and will be released soon. For our loyal Mac users, these extensions move us one step towards integrating Ginger Software with the Mac.

We hope you’ll enjoy this new feature and help us spread the word to your family and friends!

With great pleasure,
The Ginger Team

If so, how? I have installed the full version also and when i press F2 it says application not supported.

Hello. I just want to ask i you have a ginger software for Mac?

    • paulc says:

Hi Bianca, we don’t have the whole software being compatible with Mac yet, but we do have a Chrome extension that runs on the platforms of Linux/Mac/Windows. We’ll let everyone know when a Mac version is released. =)

  3. Margaret says:

I have the same problem as Colin. The You Tube video does not bring me any further than I got already. I cannot use it on gmail in Chrome.

    • paulc says:

Hi Margaret, could you try removing and re-installing the extension again? If you’re still facing the same issue, kindly inform our technical support so that they can troubleshoot the problem for you more effectively and efficiently.

The Chrome extension is a wonderful addition. What sets GINGER apart is the ability to offer words with definitions… This allows one to work out the right word on the spot.

As far as I can tell, this feature is missing from the extension.

Do you plan to make this a part of the extension soon or have you decided to not include it?

    • paulc says:

Hi Bill, we have no concrete plans of adding this feature on the extension as of now. But we’re always receiving feedback, and it could be possible to have this feature added to the extension if it serves to benefit our users. Thanks for the feedback!

  8. George says:

Is there an alternative to pressing the f2 button seeing how that button is what turns my wifi off on my dell laptop. Thanks.

    • Efratk says:

      Hi George,
You can always use the seamless mode- the green underlines that appear once there is a mistake in the text.
Right click the green underline to receive corrections, and click again to approve them.

You can always contact us at suppot@gingersoftware.com

      Best,
      Efrat

This pop-up for ginger shows up on every page I go to. Is there any way to get rid of this thing? I am sick of clicking it out of the way all the time. I am about ready to get rid of google altogether. Sickening! Jerks!

    • Efratk says:

      Hi Rich,
We’ve forward this issue to our product team so they can address it.
In the meantime, we do hope you continue to enjoy Ginger’s corrections.
